This is the part of the van build where you can really personalize your van to make it look exactly how you want it to. So here are some options that you can use for each that can give you the look that you are going for:

Floors

Vinyl Plank

This is the floor we used in our van and what many others use, we really like the look of it and the durability/waterproof features it provides.

Pro tip: when installing the floor don’t install if the temperatures are below 50 degrees and install your floor toward the end of your build. If you put it all down first and screw things into it, it will cause problems later on (speaking from experience). This floor expands and contracts with the weather and is meant to be floating so it can move as needed. This will also cut down on your cost for how much you will need to buy.

Laminate Plank

Another plank option we have used personally, in the second van we built. We really liked it over all for its look, easy of use, and durability. This flooring is laminate, not vinyl.

Another option that can give a similar look to these is a a roll of laminate flooring. This isnt in planks but one big roll that that is adhered to your subfloor. This is a cheaper option that you dont have to worry about expanding and contracting with weather and can cover your entire floor right away if you wish. The down side to this is that is isnt as durable and can more easily be punctured or torn.

Lastly, if you are so bold, you can also tile the floor, but please do your research and learn what’s needed to tile in an area that is subject to frequent temperature changes and movement.

Walls

Shiplap

We used this in our van and it does look very nice and it is very easy to install. You can also get it in various lengths to accommodate what you need and it is already primed so all you have to do is paint it.

Plywood

We used ½ inch birch for the wall in the second van we built and honestly like how the look of this turned out overall. The down side is you have to make all your special cuts in one piece of wood rather than as you go with shiplap. You will also have to fill all the screw heads and seams with this option and sand A LOT to get a nice seamless smooth finish. But we think it was worth it and like how it turned out.

Prefabricated Panels

These come in various finishes, but in our opinion these are really pricey and come out looking more more rugged and not as homey.

Ceiling

There are so many things you can do with your ceiling and it all depends on what vibe you care going for and how much you want to spend. Below are some pictures from what we have done along with some others to give you an idea of what you can do.
